Operations Overview

Contact Uranium is an Australian-based uranium company with a portfolio of exceptional uranium projects in Peru and Kyrgyzstan.

Peru - Uranium Projects

The company’s most advanced project is the Corachapi Uranium deposit in Peru where the project has a JORC compliant Inferred Resource of 9.2 million lbs of U3O8. The deposit is near surface and high grade. Recent anomaly testing and the simple layer cake geology suggest very large expansion potential at Corachapi. The project is well located to existing infrastructure including the Trans-Oceanic Highway which is scheduled to be completed in 2009, nearby ports, airports and is located alongside a major electricity grid.  A 5000m phase one drilling program has been completed, with phase two underway shortly.

Kyrgyzstan - Uranium Projects
The company also has an initial JORC resource of 1.71 million pounds of uranium at its Kamushanovskoe project in Kyrgyzstan. Extraction is simple and all infrastructural needs, including the Karabalta uranium processing facility are located nearby. Contact has also acquired three other highly prospective uranium exploration assets in Kyrgyzstan that it plans to aggressively explore to target further uranium deposits. All have excellent exploration potential and significant supporting Soviet era exploration data.  A 240 hole drilling program at Kamushanovskoe has been partially completed and exploration programs are continuing at all licenses.
